Circular Economy & Waste-to-Value

In mega-projects, the issue of "waste" and "exhaust waste" from shipyards or oil storage facilities is a major concern for green investors.

Circular Economy & Waste-to-Value

GBI adheres to the principle that "no resource should be wasted." We apply the Circular Economy concept to achieve a zero-waste target and transform industrial waste back into valuable resources.

  • Closed-Loop Water Management: The smart wastewater treatment system can recycle water used in the shipyard and for consumption within the project, reusing it in the power plant's cooling system or for watering the green belt around the project, without discharging wastewater into the sea.
  • Advanced Waste Segregation & Recovery: In Zone D, we have established a center for sorting and processing industrial waste, particularly scrap metal from shipyards (dry docks) and residual oil. This waste is then recycled according to international standards for reuse as raw materials in other industries.
  • Ocean Clean-up Initiative: GBI has installed trash skimmers around the port and coastline to trap waste from outside and prevent it from flowing into the conservation area. It also has a "Turning Marine Debris into Income" project in collaboration with local communities in Ranong to foster cooperation in maintaining the cleanliness of the waters.
